Remodelled by Cape Town-based architecture firm SAOTA, Stradella is a 1 393-square-metre 1970s home with 280-degree views, located in Bel Air, Los Angeles.

The five-bedroom, nine-bathroom home, with a 40-metre-long covered terrace, has undergone extensive interior and exterior remodelling. The lavish space, decorated by Minotti Los Angeles, features a cinema, wellness centre, indoor Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym.

“It started with a client in Miami,” explains Mark Bullivant, Director of SAOTA and project lead for Stradella. “He called us after his entire Pinterest board included images of our projects. We went to LA to look at his house there and met a development company on that trip. It was through the development company [PLUS Development] we got this commission. LA has since grown to one of our biggest markets.”

For Mark, turning the home into a quintessential Hollywood dwelling involved harnessing the views of the Los Angeles basin and creating a liveable, covered outdoor space, which in this case, features an enviable patio. The result of the renovation is a breathtaking layout, featuring clean, simple lines and polished modern finishes.
