4. ZOETROPE: A New Interactive Installation in Cape Town
“Award-winning designer Es Devlin is behind the creation of a new, locally made interactive installation located on Silo Square at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town,” says Online Editor Lindi Brownell Meiring. “The installation, entitled ZOETROPE, was commissioned by Mercedes-Benz South Africa and is open to the public free of charge. Inside the steel frame, which is clad in 72 concrete panels, visitors can view 12 one-minute films all shot within a 100-km radius of the site. The idea behind the pavilion is to imagine a network of global solar-powered pavilions and charging stations that are directly connected to their locations.”
