Architect’s Gallery will be returning to Design Joburg, featuring Rooms on View, for the second time from 24 to 26 May 2019, showcasing some of South Africa’s top architecture studios.
The feature will display a range of residential and commercial projects by renowned local firms StudioMAS, GASS Architecture Studios, AMA Architects, Boogertman + Partners, JVR Architects, Silvio Rech + Lesley Carstens, VDMMA, W Design architecture studio and Two Five Five Architects.
The final two firms to round up the 11-strong line-up are SAOTA and ARRCC, who will be curating the exhibition, together with OKHA.
The exhibition will consist of carefully curated prints, giving viewers access and insight into the planning and conceptual approaches the firms take on their respective projects.
ARRCC’s director Jon Case and interior designer Ryan Olivier explain, “Our concept pays homage to an unearthed idea of a shelter and a link to community within a contemporary African aesthetic. We love the idea that as African architects and designers we can curate our diverse influences and combine them to create a refined contemporary aesthetic.”
