Haven’t visited Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town yet? The Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, which opened in September, is not the only drawcard when it comes to the blossoming Silo District at the V&A Waterfront.
Eat Out has rounded up a list of delectable spots to eat and drink at while exploring this exciting precinct.
From The Silo Hotel to The Yard, here are 10 spots to take note of on your next visit to the area.
The Silo Hotel
This more accessible sixth floor spot in the historic Silo Hotel offers a comfortable yet contemporary menu offering with gorgeous interiors and cityscape views. Head here for breakfast with classic options like eggs Benedict; lunch with grill-house favourites like steak frites; or a post-museum visit Royal Tea, with dainty teatime treats. There are also champagne and carving trolleys that add even more elegance to the experience. Reservations are required.
Also on the sixth floor of the hotel is this swanky aqua-hued bar. No reservations are required but the space fills up quickly thanks to the cosy vibe and glorious views. Access into the hotel itself is also subject to availability and current occupation. Order a classic cocktail or two, or enjoy sipping on an impressive range of wines. Light bar snacks – including cheese and charcuterie – are available.
This popular space on the rooftop of the hotel offers incredible 360-degree views of the city. The reclined seating is ideal for lazy weekends in the sun while the tempura bar, fresh oysters and flowing bubbles will keep locals and tourists satisfied until sundown. The rooftop location is for hotel guests, but is open to the public by prior reservation.
