The Yard is the Silo District’s new concept store and eatery, named for the surrounding dockyards. It’s located within view of the tugboat moorings and the waters of Cape Town harbour at the V&A Waterfront.
The Yard, designed by Site Interior Design, has been conceptualised as a hybrid concept store that caters to local and international appetites. It offers urban-friendly homeware and accessories, and serves treats such as fine chocolates, preserves, charcuterie, homemade pasta and farm fresh cheeses.
Indulge in the fresh “fast” food available at the deli or dig into the warm buffet that changes daily. The Yard also features a fine-dining section, open for lunch and dinner, that is influenced by Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Oriental and Indian cooking.
“The inspiration for The Yard came from my wine farm background, and my creation of the Spice Route Destination in Paarl, together with my partner’s experience in the food industry over the last 15 years,” says restaurateur and co-founder Abigail Bisogno, speaking of her partner, restaurateur GP Singh, who hails from Punjab, India.
The Yard is open daily from 07:30am to 11:30pm. Contact The Yard on yardrestaurant@gmail.com to make a reservation.
