Considering the fact that there is an estimated 150 million tonnes of plastic waste in our oceans, Robert Bezeau’s idea to build a village from plastic bottles is kind of ingenious.
“There are 7.3 billion humans on the planet,” explains Robert in the clip. “If each of us drink one bottle a day, that’s 2.66 trillion bottles that are discarded every year.” Over the course of a year and a half, Robert has amassed more than 1 million plastic bottles.
In this video, you will be introduced to a young couple set to move into their very own “plastic bottle home”. These homes, which use up to 20 000 bottles, don’t need a lot of energy to keep cool in the summer months and are also earthquake-resistant.
An idea well worth investigating, we think.
