Stylish Cape Town Apartment

WORDS Michaela Stehr

Johannesburg-born interior designer Megan Bond, of Objek Architects, has renovated her apartment on Cape Town’s Kloof Nek Road.

The project entailed a full renovation of the 90sqm, two-bedroom apartment. The aim was to create an open-plan living space and reinvent both the kitchen and bathroom areas. In order to create a sense of space, doorways were heightened and appliances were integrated to be invisible.

In keeping with the desired contemporary feel, Megan incorporated clean lines, a neutral and simple palette and diffused lighting in her design of the space. Parquet flooring was sanded and re-stained to create a consistent and even tone throughout the home. White metro tiles and white cemcrete flooring were used to keep the bathroom feeling bright and airy.

“My favourite piece is the hand picked slab of marble, which features as the splashback in the kitchen,” says Megan.
