Renowned denim brand Levi’s® has embarked on a transformative journey, introducing a range of new sustainable jeans that harmonise innovative design principles with an unwavering dedication to sustainability.
As Levi’s® commemorates the remarkable 150th anniversary of its iconic 501®s, the brand unveils an array of sustainable offerings—a Plant-Based 501®, a hemp-cotton blend Selvedge 501®, and a Circular 501®. These new additions show how even an enduring symbol of fashion history can serve as a canvas for fresh perspectives and adapt to current climates.
The 501® Plant-Based jean, comprising a minimum of 97% plant-based materials, including certified organic cotton, natural dyes, a plant-based patch, and ink sourced from wood waste, represents a significant stride towards ecological responsibility. Building upon Levi’s® prior ventures in cottonized hemp within the Wellthread® collection, the brand presents the Selvedge 501®s, skillfully crafted from a hemp-cotton blend. Additionally, Levi’s® introduces the Circular 501®s, fashioned from a mix of organic cotton and innovative Renewcell Circulose® fibre – a viscose partially derived from recycled denim and textile waste, thereby reducing natural resource consumption and minimising chemical usage during the manufacturing process.
This remarkable collection underscores Levi’s® unwavering commitment to redefining fashion, emphasising that even enduring classics can evolve in response to the evolving demands of the modern era.
