1. Akihisa Hirata’s “Tree-ness House”

“This nature-inspired building, designed by Japanese architect Akihisa Hirata, is made up of a series of boxes and mini gardens,” says Online Editor Lindi Brownell Meiring. “It’s all about the flow between indoor and outdoor. I just love the way greenery, in the form of plants, is incorporated across the façade of the building.”

“This Canadian holiday house, which is called “The Farm”, was designed by Scott Posno Design,” says Features Editor Amelia Brown. “The two-storey house is surrounded by forest and is the perfect escape from the city.”
