Mervyn Gers Candle Holders

Local ceramist Mervyn Gers has released a new range of organically shaped bespoke candle holders, perfect for any table setting.

“We’re always looking at ways in which we can expand our offering and found there was a need for candle holders, both in the industry as well as private homes.  Our range comes in various sizes and colours, and some can also be used as flower vases by default,” Mervyn explains.

The candle holders can be seen in top restaurants, hotels, international and local retail outlets and game lodges. 

Mervyn Gers Ceramics also focuses on sustainable job creation. “We’re immensely proud of every individual we employ. Bear in mind that each of our products passes through 22 pairs of hands before it gets to the end-user. Although most of our employees are highly skilled, we’re committed to providing opportunities for them to grow and acquire new skills, and many are artists in their own right,” he explains.

The colourful patterned candle holders are inspired by local South African landscapes including Bakoven, Blouberg, Blue Onyx, Churchhaven, Fern, Fynbos, Green Onyx, Harbour, Langebaan, Madumbe, Monkey Apple, Moss, Ostrich Egg, Paternoster, Pond, Rock Pool and Veld.
