Local brand Takk designs and crafts contemporary flatpack furniture.
A 2020 Design Indaba Emerging Creative, Takk merges the abilities of architects, industrial designers and makers to form a team that understands the intricacies and harmonies of style, placement, making and use.
The result of their combined knowledge is a collection of sustainable, functional pieces. All of Takk’s materials are sourced from sustainably managed and harvested forests and are either recyclable or biodegradable – even the studio’s saw dust is upcycled.
By combining modern technologies and traditional craftsmanship, the brand’s clean, simple designs allow customers to tailor each piece to suit their space.
Takk’s collections feature a range of basics informed by a series of studies on fundamental furniture types. The collection includes seating, tables and cabinetry in both timber and metals in nature-inspired colours, such as burnt orange, charcoal and peach.
