South Korean design studio Hattern creates beautiful stools, generating zero waste in the process.
The Zero Per project is a series of short-legged stools, which are made using the “undesirable” or left over pieces of white oak wood. These offcuts would usually be discarded. The white oak is used to create the four legs of each stool.
For the seat, the design team uses a hybrid wood technique. This involves combining old pieces of wood with resin and setting it into a mould, creating entirely unique patterns.
Keeping with its zero waste policy, Hattern even uses the smaller chips to create coasters by means of the same method.
