The winners of this year’s World Architecture Festival, held in Singapore from 4 – 6 November, have been announced.

The prestigious award for World Building of the Year 2015 went to The Interlace, a residential development in Singapore designed by the Netherlands-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in conjunction with German architect Ole Scheeren.

The building, which features intricate “stacks” of apartments built on top of one another, was one of the largest residential developments ever undertaken in Singapore. As explained on the OMA website, “Instead of creating a cluster of isolated, vertical towers – the default typology of residential developments in Singapore – the design proposes an intricate network of living and social spaces integrated with the natural environment.”
