VISI Collab: Mungo Linen Face Masks

Plettenberg Bay-based homeware textile manufacturer Mungo has created a range of 100% Mungo linen face masks (available in sets of three), exclusively for VISI.

Mungo weaves a wide range of sustainable natural fibre throws, bedding, towels, kitchen and table linens. In March 2020, Mungo began making masks, which have since been tweaked and refined for breathability and fit.

This 100% linen mask trio, made exclusively for VISI, features a double-layer design and medium-size cut. In gingham check, stripe and melange fabric, the 22.5cm x 12.5cm masks, which are woven at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay, are made from the finest Italian-spun linen. Linen ensures a light-weight natural feel, providing easy breathability over long periods.

Each mask features tie strings and a pocket for an optional filter insert (not included).

The masks retail at R350 for a pack of three and 25% of the total profits from the sale of the masks will be donated to FoodFlow.

Please note: These fabric face masks should not be considered sufficient protection against COVID-19. These masks are not medical-grade or surgical-grade and they are not filtered. The usage of a fabric face mask should be accompanied by strictly adhering to safe-use guidelines. It is very important to use a fabric mask properly. If these masks are not properly used, there is a risk of spreading COVID-19. A fabric face mask must be used in conjunction with good hygiene practices: additional preventative measures need to be adopted, like frequent hand-washing and social distancing. Please wash these masks before first use. For guidelines on how to wear a fabric face mask safely, visit who.int.
