Victorian Bathrooms celebrated its 25th birthday this year with a smart new showroom in Wynberg, Cape Town.
After a quarter of a century in the business, Victorian Bathrooms founder Lance Goodale went back to his roots and opened a new showroom in Wynberg. “Our customers in the Southern Suburbs have been so good to us over the years,” says Lance, “it is wonderful that we can move the showroom back to where it belongs.”
A house-like space is ideal for this kind of showroom, but this house in particular was quintessential for the lifestyle on show. Think high ceilings, wooden floors and Victorian fireplaces – even the pillars on the porch have curly trimmings.
Inside, freestanding copper baths are polished to a shimmer and porcelain-headed hand showers are elegantly draped over the taps. There’s much more, however, than tubs, taps, showers and piping. The Wynberg showroom has everything needed to upgrade bath time from necessity to indulgence. An entire room is dedicated to ceramics, fragrances, bathrobes and thick towels. Another, the white room, features a bateau bath with a polished pewter skirt and a snow-white chaise longue from which to admire it.
Victorian Bathrooms is at Courtyard 53, Constantia Main Road, Wynberg.
