WORDS Michaela Stehr
The Paramount fabric collection from international fabric and wallpaper brand Thibaut is now available locally at St Leger & Viney.
The range embodies sophistication, style and a juxtaposition between new and old through its wallpapers, woven and embroidered fabrics, and prints.
Inspired by the turn of the 20th century, the decorative patterns featured as part of this collection include visually stimulating flower motifs, peacocks and S-curve patterns.

This pattern's name, “Ebru,” is Turkish and stands for a marbling technique that was invented in the thirteenth century. Marbling is an art that is created by putting pigment into oil and then taking a tool to swirl it around. Paper is then placed on top and lifted up. What transfers to the paper is a repetition of unique shapes of blended colors. The S-curves make a statement as wallpaper on walls or the embroidery upholstered on occasional seating.
