Porcelain tiles that mimic the look of natural stone are stealing the limelight.
“In the modern age we are constantly bombarded by technology, which makes incorporating natural-looking elements into the home an increasingly attractive prospect,” says Monika Krolewicz, design executive at Ferreiras Tile + Bathroom Design Studio in Northriding.
Stone-effect tiles that mimic nature featured prominently at Italian bathroom trade expo Cersaie 2016, where Climb, a new range from the Italian Ceramica Del Conca brand, was launched.
“The Climb range is a harmonious balance of porcelain stoneware meeting stone effect,” says Monika. “These are multifaceted, natural-looking tiles that come in various sizes (60 x 60 cm, 40 x 80 cm and 80 x 80 cm) and are available at Ferreiras in two colours, light grey and brown.”
Climb tiles are non-slip and can be used on floors and walls, and they’re suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. “The advantage porcelain has over its natural counterparts,” says Monika, “is that it is easier to install and requires no maintenance.”
