VISI Issue 61

Welcome to the new VISI.

We have moved things around a bit in your favourite inspirational home magazine. As always, we support visionary South African design and are committed to showing you the best of local architecture and decor mixed with a shot of global sensibility.

In this winter issue you will find eight magnificent homes upfront and, in the second half, lots of great reasons to still love VISI. This is your must-have reference to the hottest products and people around.

We asked renowned Durban designer Garth Walker to design a new masthead for us and he created a unique VISI typeface in the process. For the first time ever we also approached leading writers and bloggers to share their special feelings about “home” with us. You can look forward to reading the thoughts of other top names in future issues. What else is different? From now on we will publish four seasonal issues per year and two special-interest publications. Look out for a round-up of Deputy Editor Annemarie Meintjes’ ever-popular bright ideas and VISI’s best summer houses in our first special-interest publication later this year.

What we are trying to do with the new VISI is sharing with you what Charlotte Daneel describes so perfectly in Paul Duncan’s Style Icons (Random House Struik):

“The best places are those that put their arms around you and make you feel instantly at home and comfortable.”

We hope you agree.
