When leading advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi’s SA group acquired an additional agency, BrandsRock, their offices at The Foundry in Green Point needed to expand. They got in touch with Inhouse Brand Architects, the design agency behind the successful refurbishments of 99c and Ogilvy.
There is no doubt that in a modern work environment spaces need to be highly adaptable and suited to a variety of work styles, which was a key consideration for Inhouse Brand Architects’ team leader, Annelise Botes, who went about opening up the area by removing walls that made the space feel confined and constricted.
While there are clearly designated areas, the new space, with its strong dose of the contemporary, encourages collaboration and dialogue. Levels above and below are open and visible, and brickwork and industrial fittings that have been in the building since its origins as a factory are left exposed, giving the space a utilitarian feel.
Inhouse Brand Architects’ creative director, Aidan Hart, recently visited the London Design Festival. He shared his 5 favourite finds with VISI here.
