Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos is no stranger to reinterpreting Roche Bobois’ iconic pieces. Her latest is the BOMBOM collection – a collaboration with Roche Bobois creative director Nicolas Roche for the company’s 60th anniversary.
With a solid beechwood base and customisable upholstery colours, the generous BOMBOM sofas are finished in boldly hued stretch fabric outlined by solid black. The backrests, which have removable covers, are mobile and independent of one another, giving the sofas a free-form feel. The collection also includes rugs adorned with Vasconcelos’s original, colourful drawings.
