Local ceramic studio Rialheim has launched a brand new concept store in SOKO District at the Rosebank Mall in Joburg.
“SOKO has offered us the opportunity to be able to get access to the feet that move through shops, within a shopping centre environment. We weren’t expected to fork out a huge deposit, or to put a shopfitting together with all the brand collateral. SOKO has actually done all of this already, they have given us a shopfitting solution that is tailor-made to our visual merchandising vibe,” says Rialheim CEO, Daniel Swanepoel.
The SOKO District was chosen for its fit with the ceramic brand. Rialheim utilises a large portion of the space, displaying its iconic and most coveted pieces as well as new designs and ranges.
In the Town Hall, the events and product activation space, Rialheim have hung hundreds of ceramic birds from the ceiling in an exhibition entitled We Believe Our Dreams Unite Us. Rial Visage, the founder of Rialheim comments, “My favourite thing to do now, is to go to SOKO and read everyone’s dreams, it has really touched me. People have dreams about becoming a supermodel, or the end of COVID, grandparents wishing their grandchildren could come from abroad to visit. It’s very emotional and I feel every person’s dreams are valid, I am honoured to have been able to afford people a moment to dream, forgetting about the ugly in the world, even for just a little while.”
