WORDS Mary Garner
The Poetry Autumn/Winter 2018 homeware collection, inspired by the lifestyle philosophies of Wabi-sabi, Ubuntu and Hygge, is made up of a range of mood-lifting pieces.
The Danish philosophy of Hygge, a trend that focuses on a sense of cosiness, inspired Poetry’s Autumn/Winter homeware range in the form of chunky throws and marble accessories, while the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi inspired hand-painted tea cups and pieces in alabaster stone, such as the bath and body range that includes a soap dish and dispenser. Locally made ceramics, hand-poured candles and hand-made soaps are just some of the items influenced by the Ubuntu philosophy.
The collection as a whole is packed with homeware items, from trays, bowls, ceramic teaspoons, tea towels, tablecloths, cheese boards, hand-bound leather journals, stationery and photo frames to candles, confectionery, soap dishes, bath mats, sleepwear and bath and body products.
