1. I See Patterns Everywhere Fabric Collection by Mitchell & Santos
Local decal, wallpaper, fabric and art print brand Mitchell & Santos has released a collection of three designs entitled I See Patterns Everywhere. “I have a great love for patterns, shapes and colours, and have been drawing and documenting my passion for these. This was the result,” says Founder and Textile Designer Candice dos Santos. The three designs – Animalia, Basketcase and Gather – are all available through Fabric Bank.

2. Faatimah Mohamed-Luke’s MRP Home Colab
As part of MRP Home’s ongoing Colab series, Cape Town-based artist and designer Faatimah Mohamed-Luke has designed a nostalgia-inducing cooler box and towel inspired by pop culture, candy necklaces and South African sweets.

3. Take This Thread
Take This Thread is a South African movement aimed at helping break the pattern of Gender Based Violence and abuse by focusing on helping survivors achieve financial independence. Together with People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA), Take This Thread embraces creativity, skills development, psychosocial support and entrepreneurship and helps to raise awareness about GBV and abuse. The movement provides GBV survivors at POWA safehouses with sewing skills training and fabric to create sellable textiles, which are sold via TakeThisThread.com. The proceeds go back to the women involved.

4. Lim Heng Swee Illustrations
Kuala Lumpur-based artist and illustrator Lim Heng Swee, aka ilovethedoodle, creates fun images with the primary aim to make people smile. His work can be seen across his range of art prints and T-shirts.

5. Tom Dixon Swirl Vases
The studio of renowned designer Tom Dixon has launched the SWIRL vase collection, inspired by Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. The vases are made from recycled and powdered marble mixed with pigments and resin, which are then moulded and sliced into blocks and shapes.
