Picks of the Week

picks of the week

From butterflies made out of the pages of recycled VISI magazines and an optical illusion mural to stackable chairs by OEO Studio for Gubi, these are the VISI team’s top picks of the week.

1. Ichi-go Ichi-e Butterfly Collections

Yoga teacher and origami artist Sanae Sawada creates handcrafted butterflies from the pages of recycled VISI magazines, which are then pinned onto Daler Rowney acid-free mount board. The proceeds from each butterfly collection sold go towards providing seven children the opportunity to practice yoga for a year through Light Kids Yoga.

2. HALO Lighting by Maarten De Ceulaer

Brussels-based designer Maarten De Ceulaer’s HALO lighting collection features a semi-circular design on a rounded metal base. Only the sandblasted edge of the light is illuminated, creating a halo effect. The collection includes a table light, wall light, floor light and suspension light, all of which are available in black aluminium and brass.
