1. META-Project’s The Stage of Forest
“This contemporary ‘stage’ is a viewing platform in Jilin, China, designed by META-Project,” says Online Editor Lindi Brownell Meiring. “The building provides the perfect spot for visitors to look out onto the surrounding natural landscape, with the intention that people use the space to explore their relationship with nature.”
2. Emmanuelle Moureaux’s Color of Time Installation
“Tokyo-based artist Emmanuelle Moureaux’s Color of Time installation at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design in Japan makes use of 100 000 paper number cut-outs,” says Sub-Editor Kay-Ann Van Rooyen. “The idea behind the installation is for viewers to visualise the concept of time passing.”
3. Seletti Cat Lamps
“The cheeky Felix cat lamps by Studio Job for renowned Italian design brand Seletti will be previewed at this week’s Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair,” says Features Editor Amelia Brown. “It’s available in three different versions and comes with a USB port and dimmer switches.” Looking for the perfect stand to place the lamp, one of these stylish side tables will do the trick.
4. Nuro The Self-Driving Delivery Car
“This cute self-driving delivery car is the brainchild of two ex-Google engineers,” says Editor-in-Chief Sumien Brink. “So far the start-up has raised $92 million and they plan on cracking the delivery sector in the US. It will deliver your pizza, shopping, and more! So clever.”
5. Woolworths Avivado Sec-Si Sparkling Wine
“Woolworths has launched Avivado Sec-Si, a sparkling wine made in the popular Prosecco style,” says Content Producer Mary Garner. “It’s ideal as a party drink or as an aperitif before eating out – and at R79.99, it’s not badly priced either.” A good sparkling wine goes well with a good glass, good thing Woolworths offers a new curve range by Ngwenya Glass.
