Local photography and printing studio ORMS recently collaborated with 16 South African artists on a limited-edition wallpaper collection.

“We get a lot of requests for custom-printed wallpaper designs, as our customers are wanting something unique for their homes and businesses,” says Leanne Barling, Head of Décor Printing at ORMS, who believes the brand’s clients are looking for something more personal and locally orientated than what is offered on stock libraries.

The artists involved in the collaboration are Ahimsa Ali, ARK Paper Studio, Katie Lund, Frances White, Andrea Brand, Cecile Nowars, Liffey Joy, Mariette Kotze, Aimee Hall, Fleur Le Cordeur, Lisa Strachan, Nicole Carr, Andrew Hofmeyr, Gany Beyers, Maria Baumann and Si Maclennan.

The process involves ORMS initially inspecting your wall before customising the wallpaper to fit your space. There are three different wallpaper textures available: a textured suede (think: a luxe velvety texture – great for rich colours and black) at R399/m2, linen (a canvas-like organic, woven texture) at R345/m2, and an eco-friendly option (PVC free with a woven backing, perfect for moist areas such as bathrooms) at R449/m2.
