After the success of 2014’s BOS Design A Can competition, which saw designer, street artist and musician Ofentse Letebele win the top prize for his creation, BOS relaunched the competition in 2015.

Over 1000 entries were submitted before Cape Town-based Red and Yellow graphic design student Kayleigh Garrett was announced as the winner. Her monochrome design, which will be printed on 200 000 BOS cans this year, reflects Kayleigh’s love of simplicity. “I love minimal colour palettes, usually black, white and a spot colour, which is the approach I took with the BOS Design A Can Competition,” she says. “The pattern I designed was influenced by the natural pattern of the veins on bamboo leaves, inspired by the initiative that BOS has to plant a tree for every 2 000 cans sold. It also speaks to the healthy side of the BOS lifestyle and their natural flavour and ingredients.”

The can will launch at an exhibition in Cape Town on 2 June 2016 at 99 Loop Gallery before heading to Joburg later in the year.
