New From Pedersen + Lennard

WORDS Mary Garner

Cape Town-based design studio Pedersen + Lennard has added eight new products to its wide range of locally made designs.

This new additions include a pot stand, a set of coasters, a butter knife, a deluxe bread bin, a kitchen rack, an aspect lamp, an updated KPA high chair and a Firenze bed.

The all-steel bread bin (complete with recipe book stand) comes in various colours, from yellow and charcoal to red and bright blue, while the hand-finished butter knife is made from solid oak timber and coated in linseed oil.

The coasters, made from solid oak and galvanised mild steel, feature a nifty design that enables them to be stacked away neatly when not in use. The pot stand is also made of solid oak and features brass inserts for heat absorption. The adjustable kitchen rack, available in ash, oak or wormy, is made from a combination of mild steel and hardwood.

The Aspect lamp was designed with functionality in mind, using bent steel to create multiple facets, making the resulting light perfect for reading in bed or working at a desk.

A steel feeding tray has been attached to the KPA high chair design, which is easily removed making the chair more versatile. The new Firenze bed features tapering turned wooden legs and a specially angled headboard, made from solid timber, that makes reading in bed a lot more comfortable. The bed is also available to purchase with matching bedside tables.
