New BIRBA Furniture Showroom + Online Store

WORDS Michaela Stehr

Cape Town-based furniture company, BIRBA, has opened a new showroom in Woodstock.

Inspired by the simple, clean lines of the ’50s and ’70s, BIRBA produces all of their products locally, using traditional techniques.

We’re hell-bent on offering an alternative to customers who demand quality, and that’s why every piece we produce is a labour of love we find hard to part with,” explains co-founder and design chief Jaco Crafford. “Quality and attention to detail is our primary concern. We produce investment furniture that will last a lifetime.”

Currently on display are 20 pieces from their first range, the Neutra Collection, which is inspired by mid-century architect Richard Neutra.

BIRBA also customises furniture pieces. Customers can choose the fabric colour, depth and width of couches, ottomans and dining tables, as well as wood types and finishes.

Also included within the range are occasional chairs, dining furniture, upholstery, side tables and home accessories.

The BIRBA showroom is located at Mason’s Press, 7 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock, Cape Town. For more information and to shop the collection online, visit birba.co.za.
