Run by Cape Town-based Michela Webster, local start-up design studio MW specialises in handmade, marbled ceramics.
Michela started her journey in ceramics in 2014, after graduating in Industrial Design. She started an internship with a well-known ceramic company, where she learned the skills of the glazing, manufacturing and slip casting processes.
Slip casting fast became Michela’s favourite technique, and she began experimenting with pottery at home alongside her mother. This is how her distinctive marbling technique was developed.
Each of Michela’s pieces is handmade to order from her studio in Cape Town.
