Introducing The Future Designers Fund by Infinity Surfaces
Partner

In identifying the lack of diversity in the design industry in Africa, Infinity Surfaces has committed to actively engineering and contributing to the change by creating the Future Designers Fund.

The barriers of entry into tertiary courses for Interior Design and Architecture are great, and stretch far further than the simple annual fees.

Every year, the Future Designers Fund will research and strategise, to implement a funded initiative that will best impact potential design students of that year. The aim is to identify young, talented, potential designers, who have a passion for design thinking and creativity. Infinity Surfaces has committed to not simply throwing money at the problem, but offering a holistic and tailer-made solution to each selected student.

Apart from tertiary fees, this could include mentorship, devices, life-coaching and emotional support, lunch money, curriculum enhancement and business acumen to name but a few. The aim is to ensure that the selected students are nurtured and supported, yet also made accountable and motivated to succeed.

The core long term objective is to witness a shift in the design industry in Africa, and Infinity Surfaces have taken this on as not just a campaign, but see it as their responsibility as a brand.

The 2022 Initiative

Meet Poloko Leteka and Tiheli Tiheli – recipients of the Future Designers Fund

Endorsed by SALT Architects, both Poloko and Tiheli have been recognised as talented and passionate architectural students who graduated from UCT.

This year they reached their dream of studying at the prestigious Politecnico di Milano in Italy, and while they have been accepted to the school, they require additional funding. Infinity Surfaces has committed to split the 2022 allocation of the Future Designers Fund in order to help them achieve their goal and raise their game.

If you’d like to get involved and assist Poloko and Tiheli on their journey, you can donate here.
