Dion Chang trend seminars

We have four double tickets to give away to trend guru Dion Chang’s seminars presenting his findings from this year’s Maison & Objet in Joburg and Cape Town. Enter by 4pm on Tuesday 2 October.

Missed out on the all-important annual pilgrimage to Maison & Objet? One of the world’s major décor and design fairs, Maison & Objet has amassed such a following that this year saw the second annual Paris Design Week establish itself around the fair.

On Wednesday 3 October in Cape Town and Thursday 4 October in Johannesburg, Dion will unpack the major design themes from the trade fair, as well as how those trends are translating in real-time retail in Paris. As with all Flux Trend reports, he will not only identify the trends but also provide the context in which the trend sits. For example, how the recession and evolving consumer mindset alters and affects these design trends.

The new online-offline customer mindset will be a prevailing theme, as well as:

  • The growing market for home accessories as opposed to large statement decor investments.
  • The overwhelming need for tactility in a digital age.
  • The preservation of nature as a decor movement.
  • The rising trend of storage solutions for digital devices and accessories.
  • The changing nature of a retail space for a tech savvy customer.
  • The business of selling solutions rather than a product.

Tickets are R300 or R200 for students. Click here for more information and bookings. The VISI team are all going to be there, are you?

We have four double tickets to give away – two to the Joburg seminar and another two to the Cape Town seminar! Winners will be selected randomly at 4pm on Tuesday 2 October. To enter:
