Originally a block of flats built in 1922 before it was converted into a hotel in 1960, Cape Town’s Winchester Mansions has now received a complete revamp courtesy of Origin Interiors.
Inspired by the hotel’s existing art collection, the rooms of this four-star, privately-owned hotel have been redesigned in four colour palettes, namely blue and red, coral and wheat, eggplant and gold, and chartreuse and forest.
The use of colour extends from the artworks into the choice of accessories used in each room, which includes cushions covered in Ardmore fabrics and two-tone curtains.
“We have ensured that the hotel’s signature style of classic elegance has been incorporated in the refurbishment, keeping the same air of sophistication that the hotel is well known for,” says Beth Murray, Founder of Origin Interiors.
Apart from the rooms, the hotel has also created stylish waiting areas for restaurant and bar patrons.
Above, you’ll find images of the hotel since the 2018 revamp, as well as before and after its first and second overhaul in 1996/1997.
