Wes Anderson has designed a bar. For fans, this news is somewhat exciting*.
The decor in the brand new Bar Luce in the Fondazione Prada building in Milan is not only typical of the famed director’s distinctive aesthetic, but of a traditional Milanese cafe from the ‘50s and ‘60s. According to Anderson (on the Fondazione Prada website), “There is no ideal angle for this space. It is for real life, and ought to have numerous good spots for eating, drinking, talking, reading, etc. While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in.”
Bar Luce is located on Via Orobia in Milan and is open from 9am until 10pm.
*Okay, this is a massive understatement. Cue star jumps and screams of joy.
