Features over 100 specialty traders including local farmers, fine-food purveyors, organic merchants, bakers and distributors, grocers, mongers, butchers, artisan producers, celebrated local chefs and micro enterprises – not to forget the designers. Fiction As Fiction

Until 12 January is the gallery’s third and final installment of their Trade Routes Project, which reflected on the 1997 Johanneburg Biennale. With artists Dineo Seshee Bopape, Peter Clarke, Nicholas Hlobo, Robin Rhode and Penny Siopis, among others, this exhibition proposes what the biennale would have looked like in the present day.

Until 18 January this exhibition celebrates the 15-year collaboration between documentary photographers Andrew Tshabangu from South Africa and René-Paul Savignan from Réunion.

I Collect Gingers

Photographer and artist Anthea Pokroy has been “collecting gingers since 2010”. Over the past two years, the redhead has captured over 500 gingers from around the world, including attending the international Redhead Day in the Netherlands. If you miss the opening on the 17th, you can still drop in and see the show until 2 March.

Ways of Seeing

Until Sunday 27 January, tattoo artists and vendors from the world over will be sharing their skills and insights about choosing, designing and creating permanent art on your body. More than 80 renowned tattoo artists representing 15 different countries will be part of expo, which promises to be the best one yet.

Harvest Festival at Delheim

Starting from 12pm on Saturday and Sunday is the fourth annual Harvest Festival at Delheim. A whole day of activities is lined up, including the main event – a grape-stomping competition. Tickets are R150 for adults and include a picnic, drinks, a cellar tour and various entertainment. Only 130 tickets available, so book soon.

The Lifestyle Experience Evening

The ultimate mixology contest

The faces of Woodstock, Salt River and Observatory

Mark Hilltout, a woodstock resident and artist, has documented the landscape of these three suburbs by creating detailed drawings of every business, restaurant and residential facia stretching a total of 18km through Woodstock. The exhibiton opening evening is on from 5pm till 9pm, and thereafter Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, and on Saturdays 10am to 1pm.

Making Way: Contemporary Art from South Africa and China

Until 28 March, this exhibition explores the ways in which contemporary artists based in South Africa and China engage with new paths of movement, with economic and cultural shifts, and with the rise of new regimes, new leaders and new social and urban spaces.
