“Your home is just a house until you HOME-it”, announces the 17th annual Cape Homemakers Expo, which takes place from 23 to 26 August 2012 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Over 350 stands promise the latest trends, home improvement products and innovative decor ideas across 80 different product categories.

Highlights include the regular DIY workshop, sound emporium and ever-popular Future of Design platforms. Presented for the seventh year, the Future of Design this year shows the best of “upcycled” design by South Africa’s leading designers.

New to this year’s event is ClockArt, for which a variety of fine artists, designers, ceramicists, fashion designers and mosaic artists were invited to create a wall clock. The clocks are on auction and all funds raised will be donated to The Big Issue.

Besides feeding the eyes, indulge in the good life at d’VINE Life, with a selection of the Cape’s finest wines, cheeses, olives and other gourmet goodies.

The expo is open from 10:00 to 20:00 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.

Entrance for adults is R60, pensioners R40 and children younger than 12 free.
