Cool Collab: The Hut Chair Collection by Neimil X Stella Artois

Designer and Neimil Co-Founder Keneilwe Mothoa (@keneilwe_mothoa) wins the Decorex ‘Best New Talent’ award for The Hut chair collection, a collaboration between South African design and lifestyle brand Neimil and beer giant Stella Artois inspired by the architectural, spiritual and heritage elements of the hut.

Launched at Decorex Joburg, the collection pays homage to some of South Africa’s most historically and traditionally significant home structures and the hand-selected craftsmanship associated therewith. The collection features heritage design uniquely energised by fluid, circular elements and blocks of colour, as well as a reproduction dining area and a. large handmade mirror.

The philosophical message of The Hut marries with the beer’s own: It’s an invitation for new connections; a prompting of communion and celebration between recent strangers; the flowering of friendship in unsuspecting places. The Hut invites respite, a reminder to be here now – savouring life’s fleeting sweetness with people who matter.

The model seen at Decorex was a scaled down version and the full installation will be built and presented later in the year.
