Pretoria-based industrial lifestyle company, LuMen, started out in 2014 when two friends, DuToit Wilken and Nicholas Delport started sharing designs they thought were “cool” ideas for lights. From there they thought, “Let’s see if we can make them”. Fast forward to 2015 and the business has grown into a team of five.
“We are constantly developing and experimenting with new ideas,” says Jenne-Lee Delport, LuMen’s PR director. “We aim to grow our business to its full potential and flood the South African market with our beautiful lights and home accessories.”
Their collection, which makes use of industrial pipes, includes galvanised lights and copper home accessories like hanging rails, book hammocks and candleholders.
