This week the guys at @instagram featured one of my photos, so today felt like a #tbt opportunity to remind myself of some the places I've 'vandalised' with cut-outs. This one of the LEGO man in Paris is one of my favourites (but I'm also pretty fond of Superman in Iceland image, Mr Burns in Sweden and the Flamingo in Canada). In 1943 Albert Hoffman accidentally experienced the world’s first acid trip here in Basel. The Swiss chemist was studying the compounds of a fungus to see if it had any pharmaceutical benefits when he somehow absorbed it and went into a “dreamlike state” for two hours. Three days later, on 19th April, he performed a self-experiment with a bigger dose. When he started to feel the effects he asked his lab assistant to help him get home. It was wartime and no personal cars were allowed on the road, so they erratically cycled bikes back to Hoffman’s house. Since then the 19th April has become known as Bicycle Day and marks the very beginnings of the psychedelic age @baselswitzerland #loveBasel @myswitzerland #inlovewithswitzerland #ad

My creative process is something like this- Step 1. Look for quirky architecture. Step 2. Play around with ideas (this can take anything from five seconds to five days). Step 3. Head to the location. Step 4. Get snapping. Step 5. Have a cuppa (optional). If you want to give what I do a go then I've made things simple by teaming up with @surface_uk and together we've designed some cutouts that you can use with the lightweight & easy to use Surface Go to create your own photos in my style. Back in Spring I spent a week in Rotterdam to explore the City & give a talk with @traverseevents. I’d always wanted to visit because it’s famed for it’s contemporary architecture (and for having a good vibe). I loved it. I spent the whole week saying to myself “I could live here”. Slightly annoyingly though quite a few of the ideas I had for cut-outs just didn’t work- I had concepts lined up for the Erasmus Bridge, Market Hall, Photo Museum and Central Station but none of them quite worked or looked good enough to share. Maybe some day I’ll do an IGTV about the ideas I’ve had but that didn’t work out. Speaking of IGTV I’ve just uploaded one about my stay on SS Rotterdam, which is somewhere I’d thoroughly recommend staying if you’re ever doing a trip here @rotterdam_info @ssrotterdamofficial #Rotterdam #Holland

If you’ve come across architect Daniel Libeskind’s work before you’ll know he’s famed for acute angles and bold designs (he’s been involved with projects such as the Jewish Museum in Berlin and MGM Mirage's CityCenter in Vegas). This spearhead extension to the neoclassical building was designed to be a "juxtaposition of tradition and innovation” and it’s a really impressive (but also bizarre) sight to see in person. A friendly reminder that if you are ever in this part of the world, my exhibition is just down the autobahn in Schloss Lichtenwalde until January 2019 #Dresden #Saxony #Germany

Mein Buch gibt es jetzt auch auf deutsch! Last year my book came out in the UK, then earlier this year it came out in North America & now it's available in Germany under the name "Paperboyos Welt". A bit of an abstract one from my trip to Copenhagen with the @redbullcliffdiving team. I love the way the roof of the Royal Opera House almost looks like the sky has been pulled back to reveal another world. Speaking of otherwordly things, go check out @garydiver's winning dive over on the @redbullcliffdiving page. His last dive was a great way to end the weekend #copenhagen #redbullcliffdiving
