Win a SA Decor & Design Guide 2014

The South African Decor & Design Buyers’ Guide 2014 is out and we love their cover, which gives a nod to one of our favourite colour trends, ombre. Oh and, VISI is giving away two copies of the sought-after guide!

As you probably know, the guide is the local decor and design bible, containing listings of leading designers, organisations, decor specialists, institutions, galleries and exhibitions in the industry. This its 17thedition, put together by founder and editor Marcia Margolius.

For the cover, Marcia approached the Plascon Trends team and together they decided to go with the oh-so-hot-right-now ombre trend (read our report here). The process involved them literally painting everything from the bottom up yellow: the model, her clothes, the furniture, everything – check out the behind-the-scenes shots in the gallery above.

The result? A cover that is not only striking, but also gives a thumbs up to the official colour for World Design Capital next year – yellow. Cape Town designers Dark Horse’s new rope stool is also featured, as well as ceramics by Soetcookie and Michael Chandler, and a carpet by Moonbasket.
