Win a Home 2017: Recap

WORDS Amelia Brown

Here’s what you’ve missed and what’s to come on our favourite local décor and design reality show.

Following on from the guest room, in Episode 5 the design duos spare rooms – which had to be anything but a bedroom – were revealed. While Team House and Leisure were worthy victors, Team VISI’s multifunctional pause room, featuring a bespoke bookshelf painted in the same Plascon hue as the walls (Oceanus), a custom-made Caesarstone shelf and planter, and a collection of photographic prints of Joburg by Mpho Mokgadi entitled “Silent City”, was praised by all three judges for its modern aesthetic.

Next up, the duos have been challenged with designing not one but two bathrooms. In Episode 6, Team VISI meets with their mentor, our very own Annemarie Meintjes, and share that they’ll be taking their design inspiration from a marble tile. Their bathrooms will feature French-style contrast with black, white, grey as well as a soft shade of Plascon paint. They plan to accessorise in a highlight colour of blush pink.
