Artist duo Bigert & Bergström were commissioned by Sweden’s housing co-operative association to create a space where residents of Kiruna, the country’s northernmost city, could come together.
Previously featured here, the Solar Egg, made up of 69 golden faceted mirrors, is actually a public sauna. “We have worked a lot with interactive and social sculptures where visitors can go inside or sit on a sculpture,” says the duo in the above clip. “One could describe our art as an intersection where people, nature and technology come together.”
