Designed by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal, these beautiful pieces of furniture look like elegantly crafted wire seating during the day. Come nightfall, the centre becomes a lamp, emitting light through the wire frame and creating sundial-like shadows that fade into the dark.
“At the basis of the Meridiano project lies the contrast between the light emitted and the shadows projected,” explains Jordi in an interview with Italian architecture and design magazine Domus. “They offer the opportunity to create luminous compositions that produce highly alluring indoor spaces and outdoor areas.”
So before you send out invites to your next outdoor celebration, make sure you have two (or more) of these in the garden or on the balcony. They come in khaki, matte green and off-white lacquer.
