Venetians by Pawel Althamer : The Polish artist filled a room with sculptures of grey skeletal figures. The sculptor also collaborated with his father's plastics company and went about taking casts of faces and hands of the locals in Venice to add a deeper realism to the piece.|
Faces and Phases by Zanele Muholi : A photographic series that formed part of the group exhibition Imaginary Fact: Contemporary South African Art and the Archive, at the South African pavilion.|
The Rubble Mountain by Lara Almarcegui : This large sculptural installation at the Spanish Pavilion consists of several mounds of the different materials (of the same type and quantity) that were used in the construction of the building in 1922.|
Castello di Sole (The Castle of Sun) by Marialuisa Tadei : Working with the medium of silk and sculpture, the Italian artist presented a contemporary Silk Route for the Venetian Pavilion. The work was awarded the 2013 British Association for Modern Mosaic award of the year.|
