The new Range Rover Sport has arrived in South Africa, showcasing the clean lines and muscular stance of the brand’s reductive modernist design philosophy.

The Range Rover Sport has defined sporting luxury for 17 years, setting the standard for the luxury SUV class when it arrived in 2005. The latest model continues to accentuate dynamism and refinement, fully embracing the brand’s modernist approach to vehicle design and unquestionably sporty, confident character.

On the outside

Range Rover Sport

The new Range Rover Sport assumes the brand’s reductive design philosophy with clean lines and taut surfaces. Its muscular stance and unmistakable silhouette are free from superfluous detailing.

In profile, the floating raked roofline, rising waistline and 23-inch alloy wheels are emphasised by clean surfaces, flush glazing and flush door handles. Deep body sides – as seen on the Dynamic model, with its body-coloured lower cladding – draw the eye down towards the road.

The headlights feature the latest LED tech, with a distinct, graphic daytime running light signature that’s complemented by subtle black headlight surrounds.

The rear-end design provides a distinctive twist on Range Rover Sport’s DNA, while still retaining a strong family resemblance. The prominent shoulder line leads to the rear and meets the slimline tail-lights, with an integrated rear quarter panel that seamlessly connects with the flush glazing. The rear glass features a taut angle for added dynamism, and is framed by the falling roofline, rising waistline and the rear spoiler.

On the inside

The interior has an architectural lightness that fuses modern design with sophisticated detailing and precise controls, while echoing the assertive nature of the exterior. The infotainment touchscreen is met by an angled centre console that sweeps beneath the lower edge of the floating screen, driving the eye forward and accentuating the driving position. This dynamic design ensures core vehicle controls are close at hand, while also providing enhanced storage within and beneath the centre console.

The central touchscreen and instrument cluster are complemented by tactile heating and ventilation controls that feature hidden-until-lit technology, providing a clean surface at all times.
