Cape Town trend setters will be thrilled to hear that Unknown Union – a new men’s streetwear store – has been added to the string of stylish shops on Kloof Street.
The clothes are fresh and different, and the store itself is really hip. Designed by New York designer Rafael de Cardenas, the bright rainbow colours, modular stacked shelves and quirky shop details enhance the shopping experience.
Two of the store owners also started the cult New York menswear store BBlessing, named by Women’s Wear Daily as one of the 50 most influential boutiques in the United States. For four years in a row, GQ also named it as one of the top 100 boutiques in the world, while Citysearch noted that it’s the best menswear boutique in New York.
Unknown Union stocks stylish, simple menswear items such as T-shirts and accessories by a variety of labels, including aNYthing, Pendleton, Surface To Air, Warriors of Radness, RXMANCE and Penfield USA. Think trendy patterns, stylish and unique prints and vibrant colours, and you’re on the right track.
Their in-house label will be manufactured in Africa and will be available exclusively at the Cape Town boutique. A portion of all proceeds go to local charities such as Ambassadors For Change. Pop in at 24 Kloof Street, Cape Town – you won’t be disappointed.
