PROMOTION
Italcotto will be hosting the first ever Tile Fashion Week in South Africa at their Cape Town showroom in March 2013.
The spectacular event will be launched on the evening of 13 March with a media, architect and designer preview, and run from 14 to 16 March for public viewing.
New tile designs and design concepts will be unveiled, highlighting distinctive trends from the top Italian tile manufacturers. The tile ranges on exhibition are exclusive lines and never been seen before in Cape Town.
Four distinct design effects will be highlighted: a porcelain tile with the same visual impressions as wood, marble, concrete and stone. With the availability of HD print technology, the simulation is near perfect.
Also on display will be one of the largest porcelain tiles ever seen – 3m x 1.8m and only 6mm thick. A real eye-opener in understanding what technology these days enables manufacturing wise.
Italcotto will be pulling out all the stops to show the most beautiful and stunning design and tile trends that Italy has to offer.
Urban Concrete
This Italian-style interpretation of concrete, the epitome of urban spirit, has resulted in a collection that conveys a unique concept of contemporary space. Urban Concrete from Flaviker offers an architectural vision that creatively enhances concrete through the latest-generation technology into large-format porcelain tiles.
A product with outstanding technical and aesthetic qualities, Urban Concrete is available in four sizes, all rectified (400 x 800mm, 600 x 600mm, 300 x 600mm and 150 x 600mm), and in two surface finishes: natural and frame “formwork effect”. The intense, original frame surface reproduces the wood textures imprinted on concrete by formwork, conveying a sense of work and manual labour. The natural surface of Urban Concrete enhances the delicate colours and deep ton-sur-ton shades to imbue spaces with a sense of sophisticated neutrality.
Walks
Thanks to its sophisticated technological resources, Floor Gres has revisited the aesthetic beauty of quartzite using porcelain stoneware, creating a material that constitutes a superb synthesis of nature and artifice combining the value of research with the quality of raw materials. The natural appearance of the surface and the material consistency of the quarry split stone effect, combined with the intricacy of the graphics, colours and structures, allow the Walks to be used in a range of different surroundings to the greatest aesthetic effect.
Available in two finishes – soft and natural – these tiles are ideal for the interpretation of interior and exterior architectural spaces that interact with the surrounding landscape
The physical-mechanical properties of Walks/1.0 through-body porcelain tiles make them perfect for flooring, wall cladding and building façades. In the design of swimming pools and wellness facilities, the pronounced textured properties of the surface makes this product an option for swimming pool borders, including outdoor pools (especially in the lighter colours because of their lower heat absorption properties).
Sizes: 40 x 80cm, 40 x 40cm, 20 x 40cm, 60 x 60cm, 30 x 60cm in the dual matte and textured surface finishes.
Alabastri
Alabaster, naturally luxurious, and known as an ornamental stone, can be quite brittle and impractical to use. The newly launched Alabastri range is a full body porcelain tile, which perfectly replicates the exceptional attributes of the natural stone. The use of cutting-edge production and technology ensures the quality of the natural stone is not compromised by this replica. Seven shades with strong aesthetic appeal, and one optical white, illuminates this beautiful collection.
The strong link between Rex, and fashion and design trends underpins this interpretation of 1970s luxury, expressed by adorning the home with highly-valued objects and jewel details to embellish it as if it were a human body. Marble is processed like rich fabrics for expensive clothes, and gemstones designed to create noble trinkets are transformed into elegant walls that decorate the surroundings with style and originality. Alabaster, naturally luxurious and with its symmetrical geometries, leads us into a fairy-tale labyrinth: its harshness is transformed into warm, ductile, contemporary lightness, following an extraordinary, exclusive path that rekindles the imagination.
Shapes, colours and nuances become the starting point to externalise more and more seductive emotions and suggestions, creating incredibly sophisticated, one-off solutions.
Nuances
By Fap Ceramiche, this new collection of wood-effect porcelain stoneware tiles is ideal as wall tiling and is a first for Fap Ceramiche. In fact, it is the first time that a collection has also been available in the “out” version for use outdoors.
Nuances is available in two sizes of rectified panels, 225 x 900mm and 150 x 900mm. It is at its best in the multi-tone version, a harmonious blend of attractive and sophisticated shades, with a mood that feels new yet antique at the same time. It beautifully reproduces Faggio – Beech, Rovere – Sessile Oak, Sandalo – Sandalwood, Quercia – Oak, Ulivo – Olive and Noce – Walnut.
The natural and elegant non-slip surface can also be used for outdoor surfaces, including patios and swimming pools, complementing the traditional indoor applications, both for residential and commercial solutions.
