WORDS Lindi Brownell Meiring PHOTOS Steve Niedorf and ESCAPE RV
ESCAPE has been designing tiny homes for 25 years – but it’s the company’s latest release that’s got everybody talking.
The Escape One XL is a nine-metre-long wood-clad, two-storey mobile micro home that can sleep up to eight people.
The 36 square-metre space features a multi-purpose living and dining area, kitchen, and bathroom, as well as two upper level loft spaces. The kitchen comes complete with maple cabinetry, butcher block countertops and shelving, while the bathroom includes a bath/shower combination, a toilet and vanity.
With ceilings reaching 3.35 metres and large windows allowing natural light to spill into the interior, the home doesn’t feel cramped and dark, despite its size.
