Right, so the stuffed animal is big decor news. But if the idea of a springbok trophy head gives you the creeps, we suggest you take inspiration from our selection of faux animals.
The global taxidermy trend in decor recently sparked a bit of controversy on our Facebook page. While we noted that we only approve of taxidermy if the stuffed animals died from natural causes (as was the case at the recent Exhibition Macabre in Cape Town), your comments confirmed that this trend certainly isn’t for all.
In reaction, we’ve compiled a gallery of fabulous faux trophy does, wax rabbits, quirky wall vinyls and ceramic animals – none of which ever had a heartbeat. Right now, reindeers in particular enchant us, with the trophy head from Pezula Interiors (above) coming in as VISI’s firm favourite.
If you don’t like the idea of dead animals in your home, you’re sure to find a fun alternative here.
