Stylish Spaces: Piza e Vino

WORDS Amelia Brown

Inhouse Brand Architects are behind the artisanal interior design execution for Piza e Vino’s new Pretoria outlet.

When partners Paul Christie and Miki Milovanovic, the entrepreneurial duo behind Doppio Zero Group, briefed Inhouse Brand Architects on the interior of their new Piza e Vino restaurant, it was to capture the spirit encompassed in the brand’s newly refined logo: to celebrate the “handmade” aspect of the traditional pizzas that Piza e Vino is known for.

Located in the newly added extension of the Lynnridge Mall in Lynnwood, Inhouse worked with the architects and construction team from inception to create the sense of a traditional, rustic pizzeria in the heart of Pretoria.

To create an authentic atmosphere, the vintage influences are inspired by old-school pizzerias with finishes that blend patterned and subway tiles, polished concrete flooring, light oak dining tables, light-coloured marble counter tops, real leather upholstered booths, leather seating with brass buckles and strapping details, and reclaimed timber cladding.

To reinforce Piza e Vino’s artisanal offering, a custom-built steel screen featuring over 100 wooden rolling pins – a design nod to the craft of hand-rolled pizza dough – encompasses the central booth seating.

The dining areas are warm and inviting and, with a grand, custom-designed pizza oven fronted by a pizza bar where diners can take in a “master class” of the chefs at work and children can create their own pizzas, pizza really is the focal point.

The new Piza e Vino is located at the Lynnridge Mall, corner Lynnwood Road and Jacobson Drive, Pretoria. Make a reservation by calling 012 348 1762.
